To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Suffering in silence Hi my name is Maryann and I would like to share a little bit of story with RA. I was just diagnosed at the age of 41 with this illness. I truly understand the pain in the stories I have read on this site. I am very embarrassed because I have RA When someone sees me having a hard time walking downstairs or just walking I tell them I hurt my foot. What I am trying to say is if someone is seeing me struggle I have an excuse other than telling them I have RA I had break down and tell my employer because I was struggling with walking in from the parking lot to the building and down the stairs. I felt ashamed and I am not sure why. I was wondering if there is anyone else out there that feels the same way with this illness. August 2010
