To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Have lived with RA for over 10 years I was diagnosed with RA over 10 years ago. Tried doing as the doctor said for 2 years but the disease just continued to rage forward to the point that I was unable to do the simplest tasks because I virtually had no use of my hands and could barely walk. I wore casts to sleep in and the pain was so bad that it hurt to even have a blanket cover my body at night. Sleeping was a difficult thing since my shoulders were so painful that I woke up every hour. At this point I decided I needed to make some changes, even though the doctors said they wouldn’t help. The doctors were wrong. I started taking a supplement and within a month realized I was feeling a little better. 6 months later I was much better, in fact enough to go off the meds. Skip ahead 8 years and I am still medication free. I have returned to all my activities and have minimal pain. I do get warning pain when I am under extra stress or I eat wrong but nothing I can’t be back under control within a day or 2. I wrote a website to inspire others to help themselves with this disease because the doctors, although they do their best, just aren’t telling us all of the facts. I have changed since going through this challenge. I now use my doctors to help me diagnose what is wrong, then I do my own research on how to best treat what is wrong. I have no interest in treating symptoms, I want to treat the underlying problem, not mask it. March 2010
