To quickly access health information from your website's browser, download Geneology and Lupus My sister who is in her fifties has lupus Recently. however she had undergone some extensive tests, but mostly bloodwork, at the Mayo Clinic. Surprizingly! The clinic had phoned and told her that the type of lupus she has is the kind that mostly affects African cultures and that the geneology and DNA they performed on the blood indicate that approx. 3 to 4 hundred yrs.ago, someone in our family was infact African. We are caucasion and originally from Europe and have family in several countries there. Our father was born in France, so I did some research and learned that the “Creo French” culture colonized in France a few hundred yrs.ago. They were from Africa. Is it possible to inherit lupus from genes going back that far ? January 2009
